4 Reasons to Elope in Zion National Park

November 17, 2021

I know first hand how difficult it can be to chose the perfect spot for your elopement day. There are so many beautiful locations to chose from! Aside from that, what’s “perfect” for one couple won’t be perfect for another. And I fully understand that. So, I’m here to make a case in favor of eloping one of my hands down favorite locations, Zion National Park. So, why should you elope in Zion National Park? Let’s talk about it!

The Beauty of the Red Rock Has No Comparison

If your want your elopement photos to be unique, this reason is for you my friend! There is nothing like Zion National Park. The towering red rock formations are unlike anything you’d see anywhere else in the world, it’s truly unique to Zion. It’s 229 square miles of astounding views in every direction you turn, and the red rocks are everywhere. Not only are they beautiful to the naked eye, but in photographs they will blow you away for years to come.

The canyon walls are made of red and tan Navajo Sandstone that for years were eroded by the North Fork of the Virgin River. So thanks to the hard work of the water against the stone, we have these spectacular views. They have stood tall for thousands of years. I’m sure they’ve witnessed countless couples promise forever to each other surrounded by their impressive beauty.

If You Elope in Zion National Park You’ll Get Grand Views Vistas and Canyon Views.

Whether you are a visual person or not, it’s quite impossible to be anything less than impressed by the vista in Zion. The views are so grand throughout the whole park.

Zion National Park has beautiful waterfalls, rivers, and the beauty of the slot canyons is just something else! I get lost in the wonder of it all in every elopement here. Feeling so small in such a grand place is indescribable and it visually adds to the romance of the occasion

Plus the desert near Zion makes it one of the most unique places to get married! And there are areas outside of the park that are full of unique rock formations. A little exploring and you’ll be able to enjoy all that Zion and its surrounding areas has to offer while making the best memories.

There are also lots of places nearby that you’ll be able to visit after (or before) you elope in Zion National Park.

Some of these are Bryce Canyon National Park, Snow Canyon State Park, Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, Lake Powell, Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon, and for the more adventurous, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument!

Springdale and Saint George.

Springdale is such a quaint little town! Besides, it’s right outside of Zion National Park, making it the perfect place to stay for your elopement!

Springdale is going to be your best option if you don’t want to spend a lot of time traveling since it boarders Zion. Besides, things are located so close to each other that you can skip the car altogether! And all the shuttles have bike racks that allow you to bring your bike into the park if you so choose! You can either bring your own bike to travel throughout Springdale or you can rent one.

Another great thing about Springdale is the VIEW! You’ll be so close to the park itself that the same view will surround you in Springdale. Just imagine, eating amazing food, surrounded by beautiful views, on your elopement week, what sounds better than that?

Saint George is another option that’s nearby!

It’s near enough that you can visit the cute town and all the beautiful nature of the park but you also are not far from all the amenities! Besides having great weather year round, there are beautiful views everywhere, and there’s something for everyone to do! (Everything from ATVs, tours, hiking, spa days, and more.) You’ll be about 45 minutes away from Zion and 90 minutes from Vegas if you want a mix of nature and city!

One of My Favorite Reasons to Elope in Zion National Park is the Hiking!

The last reason I wanted to share with you goes out to my adventure hungry friends! There are parts of Zion National Park that are so well known and iconic. But like most things in life, if you explore a bit, you’ll find some amazing things. So if you are willing to explore other parts of the park or do a little bit more hiking you’ll find epic views with very few people.

I suggest asking your elopement photographer! Chances are, they have a few secret spots up their sleeve that they would love to share with you for your elopement. After all, it’s what we do!
