I am hoping to be a part of your love story so I feel I should share mine with you! Let me take you back, before our Montana elopement.
Joseph and I had a Montana elopement ceremony but our love story started way before then!
In 2014, I was going to Virginia Tech in pursuit of my PhD In food science. I needed to fulfill my duty as a teachers assistant for my scholarship, so I TA-ed a wine tasting course ([Pause] I will tell you, I know nothing about wine or what a “good” wine tastes like. Give me a beer please!). Anyway, as part of the lab for the class, the students had to help either with set up or clean up once a semester. But! This one kid kept staying late after almost all the labs… and so I was like,
“Dude, you did your duty already to fill the course requirements, so thanks? You can get out of here now.”
Fast forward to the final exam day, I am sitting in the front of the room proctoring and said cocky kid comes down the stairs of the large lecture hall, hands me his exam and asks me out in front of everyone. Shocked and sweaty, I say,
“Okay, you have a pen to write my number?”
and he says, “No, but I’ll remember.”
And sure enough he did. 🙂
Joseph and I got engaged a year later. Then moved around a lot and finally eloped in Alabama in a courthouse.
But! A year later we had our Montana elopement ceremony, just outside Yellowstone National Park. We created an intimate destination wedding surrounded by a family reunion filled with adventure! We explored the parks, hiked, fished, went horseback riding and much more! It was glorious. I could not have asked for better, it was truly us.
We love Montana. This is us in Montana in Spring before our Fall Wedding. We went to explore Glacier and also check out the flower and food vendors for our Montana elopement later that year.
