Have you seen a Salt Flats elopement on social media? Aren’t they absolutely beautiful? I was so excited when Haley and Colton told me that they wanted to elope here! The clean lines, the beautiful mix of colors such as the white sands, the painted pink and purple sunset sky and the contrast of the blue mountains in the distance, it’s another kind of beauty. The light here is so very gorgeous, it’s a photography dreamland.
The Salt Flats has a truly minimalist feel, and the clean white look of the scenery makes for a gorgeous back drop in your elopement photos.
Something I always encourage my couples to do is customize the day to you!
Add a little decor like an arch or colorful printed rug, and BAM! Just like that, suddenly it becomes more than a breathtaking location. Now it’s a beautiful ceremony location for an elopement or intimate wedding unique to the two of you.
Haley and Colton Had a Clear Vision For Their Salt Flats Elopement.
They envisioned a beautifully setup ceremony and then a picnic celebration. With beautiful decor and time together as the sun set for the day. But the weather decided to throw us a curve ball and really try to interrupt these plans! Even with all the changes we had to do, they were still so joyful to be married after so many years loving each other.
The elopement started as most do, getting ready and then first looks. It was so beautiful.
Haley looked as glamorous as could be in her windswept dress. The day started out windy but sunny, quickly the sky darkened because of a storm. It made a beautiful contrast throughout the day and it came through just as beautiful in the photos. They celebrated their ceremony with their family and friends, and after they were married by Colton’s long time friend, they took some time for just the two of them. They soaked in every second together while the weather allowed them to.
I am reminded of so much with each of my couples, Haley and Colton were so joyous on their wedding day to spend time together and celebrate each other that no amount of bad weather could put a damper on their celebration! Sometimes plans have to change due to things out of our control, especially since elopements are usually at the mercy of Mother Nature. But it’s so important to keep in mind the why behind the day. Because it can make all the difference! Life isn’t going to accommodate us, but that’s ok! We can have fun with the curveballs it sends our way!
