A Zion elopement is quite a sight to see. It’s adventure mixed with natural beauty, a beauty that takes your breath away. So when Darcy and Jordan reached out to me and I learned that they wanted to have their elopement at Zion National Park, I was beyond elated! It is simply one of the most beautiful places in Utah. Whether you are here for the stunning red rocks, the beautiful mountain views, or the slot canyons, you won’t be disappointed!
Before I show you this Zion Elopement, let me tell you a little bit about this lovely couple.
Darcy and Jordan met way back in 2010 while they were in college in good ol’ Florida. Thanks to their overlapping groups of friends, they spent some time around each other. Eventually, a couple of their friends set them up in 2011! And the rest was history.
Over the 11 years that they’ve been together they’ve explored so much!
Not only have they moved many times but they love to hike, ski, snowboard, go on road trips, and just explore together. Which is what inspired them to be so adventurous on their elopement day. And adventure we did!
They dreamed of a laid-back morning, and that’s what they had. They slept in and had brunch before they started getting ready in the early afternoon. While they wanted this elopement for them, they also took the time and effort to include their family. After Darcy was ready in her hair and makeup she face-timed so many of their loved ones, and they also spoke to them after the ceremony. It was beautiful the way they included them. They even brought their puppers who passed along with them! Little jars with some ashes, tufts of hair, and their collars to keep them close by.
They were very intentional about having their loved ones around them even though they were eloping in Zion.
After they were done getting ready in their Airbnb outside of Zion in Glendale, Utah we headed into the park. One of the most important things to them was to read their vows with some privacy and to keep it simple to truly appreciate the beauty of the moment.
Then, after the beautiful vows, we went off to a Forever to the Moon secret photo spot!
The beautiful colors and textures in these canyons formed by water rushing through for millions of years make it impossible to not be in awe of them! I never get tired of bringing my couples to such special corners of this earth, especially since there are so many.
And of course, no elopement surrounded by mountain views and beautiful scenery is complete without some golden sunset appreciation. So we had to hike a trail to an overlook to watch the sunset and photos of course! And my goodness was it worth it. It was warmth and golden and love right through my lens, and now on your screen!
I hope that your elopement day (whenever and wherever that may be) is as intentional and uniquely you as Darcy and Jordan’s was! Celebrate your love in a place that astounds you, or with the people that feel like home, or however you envision it!
Honor your love by doing what feels right to you both.
